During this time, he worked on the staff of multiple professional and non-professional sports teams, including the San Diego Chargers. Since then. | Dr. Anthony Ferrara, 40, of Encinitas, formerly of Leominster, Mass., died Saturday, Dec. 31, after being stricken ill. Dr. Ferrara was a 1983 graduate of Leominster High School. His medical degree was obtained from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He was named Outstanding Physician of the Year for 1993 to 1994. During his school years, he was awarded the National Eye Institute / ARVO Travel Fellowship. Dr. Ferrara completed his internship in General Surgery at UCLA Medical Center, then his Orthopedic residency at USC Medical Center.
